Effect of sample temperature on laser-induced plasma of silicone rubber

Silicone rubber in power transmission and transformation equipment is subjected to considerable temperature changes under different application environment conditions operational states. In tropical areas the Turpan region of China, surface temperatures silicone insulators may reach or exceed 70°C. During situ testing rubber, spectral signal fluctuate even be distorted when changes, consequently, accuracy analysis affected. Therefore, we performed a LIBS-based investigation into dependence on sample temperature. Using high-temperature vulcanized as experimental material, determined trends line intensity for elements, plasma temperature, electron density with was increased from 25°C 310°C. The results indicated that intensities Al I 394.40 nm, 396.15 Si 390.55 nm lines LIBS spectra underwent gradual decrease increased, whereas 309.27 essentially stable. However, intensity, all exhibited spike at approximately 260°C, which occurred because decomposition aluminum hydroxide. present study should prove significance further increasing applied monitoring environments.
